NEW CHRONOGRAPH MODELS FROM PATEK PHILIPPE - 5204R-011

In October 2021, the Geneva-based manufacturer is expanding its chronograph collection with three new variants. References 5204, 5905 and 5930 once again demonstrate Patek Philippe’s expertise in the field of complications.

Chronographs have always played a major role at Patek Philippe. Since 2005, Patek Philippe has developed numerous chronograph movements with or without additional functions that are entirely designed and manufactured in its own ateliers. The various chronograph calibers from Patek Philippe are offered in more than 20 variants in the current collection, which is now supplemented by three new variants.

Repeater chronograph with perpetual calendar reference 5204R-011. New interpretation of an iconic model in rose gold and slate gray

The split-seconds chronograph with perpetual calendar reference is one of Patek Philippe’s most popular Grandes Complications. Since 2016, the chronograph has been available in two rose gold versions – one with a silver opaline dial and chocolate-brown alligator strap (5204R-001) and one with an ebony-black opaline dial on a rose gold ›Goutte‹ bracelet (5204/1R). Patek Philippe is now presenting a new rose gold version. The hand-polished case is characterized by its refined construction, the concave bezel and the two-stage lugs. It harmonizes perfectly with the slate grey dial and bracelet. Despite the complicated movement, the displays on the sunburst dial are perfectly legible. The day of the week and month are displayed in two windows at 12 o’clock. The moon phase window is located with the date hand at 6 o’clock. The small seconds and the instantaneous 30-minute counter are positioned at 9 and 3 o’clock. Two small, round windows show the leap year cycle between 4 and 5 o’clock and the day/night display between 7 and 8 o’clock. Applied hour markers and Dauphine hands in rose gold with a luminescent coating make it easy to always read the time. The sapphire crystal display back provides a clear view of the beautiful movement. The CHR 29-535 PS Q caliber was presented for the first time in 2012 with reference 5204P-001. A special feature of this movement is its traditional design (manual winding, two switching wheels, horizontal clutch). Seven patents have been registered for the movement. Six of them relate to the chronograph and one to the split-seconds mechanism. As is customary at Patek Philippe, all parts of the movement are finished by hand. The new reference 5204R-011 is worn on a slate gray calfskin strap with alligator embossing and a rose gold folding clasp. The model is available with a sapphire crystal case back and an interchangeable gold case back and complements the two rose gold versions.
