The reference 5905 was launched in 2015 as a platinum model. A rose gold version followed in 2019. The watch combines two practical complications that are very easy to use: a flyback chronograph with automatic winding and a patented annual calendar. The manufacture is now presenting this coveted model in steel for the first time. The case is combined with an integrated, three-link bracelet. The dial impresses with an olive-green sunburst motif. It guarantees perfect readability of all functions. This is ensured by a central chronograph hand, a large 60-minute sub-dial at 6 o’clock and three windows at 10, 12 and 2 o’clock for the day of the week, date and month. A discreet day/night display has also been integrated at 6 o’clock, which is very useful for setting the date correctly. The CH 28-520 QA 24H caliber with a traditional chronograph column wheel is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. Instead of a horizontal clutch with a gear wheel, it has a vertical clutch. This modern technical solution has very low wear, which is why the chronograph hand from the center can be used permanently as a central second hand. The patented annual calendar automatically considers whether a month has 30 or 31 days. It only needs to be corrected once a year (on March 1). The polished steel case impresses with its concave bezel and side indentations. The integrated steel bracelet, like that of the Aquanaut reference 5167/1A, has contrasting finishes – polished links on the outside, satin-finished links on the inside. Unlike the reference 5167/1A, the underside and edges are polished. The bracelet is equipped with a patented Patek Philippe safety folding clasp with four independent detents. The new reference 5905/1A-001 complements the references 5905P-001 in platinum with a blue dial and 5905R-001 in rose gold with a brown dial.
