NEW CHRONOGRAPH MODELS FROM PATEK PHILIPPE - 5930P-001

Automatic flyback chronograph with world time display reference 5930P-001. A new platinum version with green dial and bracelet

Inspired by a model from the 1940s, the reference 5930 combines two functions: a flyback chronograph with automatic winding and a world time display that enjoys iconic status in the history and collections of the Manufacture. This model was presented in 2016 in a white gold version with a blue dial and blue alligator strap. Patek Philippe is now launching a platinum version with a green dial and a green strap. The new model combines classic design with a sporty look. The names of the cities are printed in green on the dial. The hand-guilloché motif in the center of the green dial is an expression of the high level of craftsmanship at Patek Philippe. The 30-minute counter at 6 o’clock is also in green to match the dial. The applied hour markers and faceted Dauphine hands in white gold are easy to read at any time of day thanks to their luminescent coating. The hand-polished platinum case bears a diamond at 6 o’clock in the case flank. The model was fitted with wing-shaped lugs typical of the world timepieces of the 1940s and 1950s. As the CH 28-520 HU caliber is equipped with a column wheel and a modern vertical clutch, the chronograph hand from the center can also be used permanently as a central second hand. This minimizes wear and tear without affecting the accuracy or power reserve of the movement. The chronograph has a zero-setting pusher at 4 o’clock, which also serves as a flyback pusher. If it is pressed while the chronograph hand is running, it flies back to zero and automatically starts a new time measurement. The world time function displays the time in all 24 time zones simultaneously. If the wearer changes time zone, the time display of all zones can be corrected by pressing the pusher at 10 o’clock using an exclusive, patented mechanism, without affecting the accuracy of the movement. The new reference 5930P-001 is worn on a green alligator strap with a platinum folding clasp. The watch complements the reference 5930G-010 in white gold with a blue dial and strap.
