But let’s turn back a few chapters to the time when Lynggaard’s vocation as a jewelry designer truly took shape: most people pursue a profession at some point in their life, but only few find their true calling. Charlotte Lynggaard felt most drawn to creating in her father’s manufactory. Ever since she was a little girl, she loved crafts such as sewing, knitting, cooking and drawing. After school, she went to Paris and was lucky enough to join a PR agency specializing in jewelry brands. She soon realized that she could combine many of her interests and her passion for jewelry and craftsmanship. Her aim was to make women feel equally beautiful and unique through a special piece of jewelry. Since then, she has been designing timelessly beautiful jewelry in her internationally established family business, using only the highest quality metals and gemstones and creating pieces for both everyday wear and special occasions. A collection of a different kind is the ‘North Sea’ table linen collection, which Svenskt Tenn launched in spring 2022 on behalf of the Danish jewelry designer. This collection of tablecloths, napkins, placemats, trays and napkin rings demonstrates Lynggaard’s knack for festive table settings. Naturally in the nature-inspired designs from the Ole Lynggaard DNA. But also, the unfamiliar, such as the fish motif that adorns both the tablecloths and the napkins in the collection: “I have always loved fish motifs because I feel like they evoke a sense of dreams and wonder. My designs are partly interpretations of the fish that live in the sea in front of our house in Öresund. I am driven by the idea of what a table setting can do to people, how it connects us to each other and creates a happy atmosphere. And I want to use the influences of nature to achieve this. The four seasons with their changes of light and color were my main sources of inspiration for this collaboration.”
