Excellence, innovation and elegance

Patek Philippe has always stood for excellence, innovation and timeless elegance. With the new reference 4947/1A-001, the brand is launching a new interpretation of the annual calendar – for the first time in a steel case for ladies. This watch combines technical brilliance with impeccable design and is a tribute to craftsmanship.

A patented milestone: the annual calendar mechanism

The annual calendar complication is an ingenious invention by Patek Philippe dating back to 1996. This mechanism, which only needs to be adjusted once a year, has truly revolutionised the world of Haute Horlogerie. Originally this marvel was integrated into the more luxurious models in the three gold versions and platinum, but now the annual calendar performs its reliable calendar function in a stainless steel case that is both modern and timeless.

Reference 4947/1A-001: Innovation meets elegance

The new reference 4947/1A-001 impresses us with its elegant Calatrava case and polished bezel with a diameter of 38 mm, which is not too large to look unusual on a more delicate wrist. The integrated bracelet with its five rows of polished links offers maximum wearing comfort and is equipped with a patented safety folding clasp. This further innovation has four independent catches that guarantee maximum security. The shine of the steel harmonises impressively with the elegant, midnight blue dial, which is given an even more sophisticated look by the double vertical and horizontal satin finish and the so-called Shantung finish.

The feminine, curved Arabic numerals in white gold and the leaf-shaped hands with luminescent coating are not only a visual highlight, but also functionally well thought-out: the hour cabochons and the luminescent coating ensure ideal readability at night and in diffuse lighting conditions. The watch also features an extremely precise moon phase display, which only needs to be corrected by one day every 122 years. All displays can be easily corrected using the side pushers.

Showcase of perfection

The sapphire crystal case back provides a fascinating view of the calibre 324 S QA LU. This mechanical masterpiece with automatic winding is composed of 328 individual parts and has been fitted with a 21-carat yellow gold central rotor by the watchmakers at Patek Philippe. The engraved Calatrava cross and the luxurious architecture of this magnificent movement with its bevelled and polished edges and the ‘Côtes de Genève’ stripes complete the perfection of this novelty!
