THE ULTIMATE GLOBETROTTER

For more than thirty years, Frédérique Constant has been opening up new dimensions and introducing innovations with its watchmaking expertise. As a Manufacture where all components are being produced in-house, the brand has developed 30 Manufacture calibres that enhance its aesthetic signature.

To achieve this result, Frédérique Constant has utilised all the expertise at the heart of its Geneva manufacture. It is here, in the cradle of watchmaking, that the Maison developed, manufactured and assembled the FC-718 calibre. The FC-718 calibre is a movement worthy of its time – modern, precise, reliable and already tried and tested. However, the implantation of the calibre in the heart of the Highlife collection is a first that is anything but incidental: it is a turning point for Frédérique Constant. The ultra-modern design of the 41mm stainless steel case and the dial with engraved globe invites you to explore the world. The FC-718 manufacture calibre is only too happy to accept this invitation, because that is exactly what it is designed for.

The self-winding mechanical movement has a 38-hour power reserve and is visible through the case back, which is water-resistant up until 50 metres. Here you can admire the typical Geneva finish that Frédérique Constant attaches such great importance to: Perlage and circular Côtes de Genève. All functions can be set ergonomically via the crown: Hours, minutes, date at 6 o’clock and, above all, the disc with 24 cities representing the 24 time zones of the earth, the image of which is engraved on the centre of the watch. A day/night indicator is not required: the inner disc is engraved with 12 hours in the light area (cities where it is day) and 12 hours in the blue area (cities where it is night).

The colour blue – which incidentally dominates the Highlife Worldtimer Manufacture – covers the entire centre of the dial, as well as the date hand, which Frédérique Constant has specially provided with a sun guilloché pattern to make it easier to read. Three rhodium-plated central hands with luminous hours and minutes hover above, so that they can be read even when travelling through the night on the other side of the world.

As for the bracelet, the Manufacture welcomes the arrival of this new model with not one, not two, but three bracelets included – which is extremely rare in today’s watch world. The integrated and interchangeable bracelet of the Highlife collection has become one of the collection’s hallmarks, the relevance of which Frédérique Constant wanted to emphasise. The Maison thus adds a silky-soft strap with a blue nubuck leather finish to an initial polished and satin-finished three-link stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp, as well as a third strap of blue rubber that reinforces the watch’s urban spirit.

One watch, three looks, 24 time zones: the Highlife Worldtimer Manufacture is ideally equipped to explore the world of today and tomorrow!
