Danish actress Clara Rugaard is the new brand ambassador for Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Keen cinema-goers or Netflix subscribers may remember her from Mary Shelley’s Monster or her appearance in the sixth season of Black Mirror. Otherwise, she is better known in Denmark for her stage successes. In any case, it is not only the identical ending of their surnames that signals similarities in Copenhagen slang. Clara Rugaard has been enamoured with Ole Lynggaard jewellery since childhood, and the Lynggaard family’s offer to become a brand ambassador was a dream come true.
Now she herself is a valued friend of the house and the muse of the latest story, Sculptured Silhouettes. The campaign was staged in the historic halls of the Thorvaldsen Museum in Copenhagen, a place where craftsmanship is celebrated and imagination is allowed to roam free. It is no coincidence that a vivid imagination and exquisite craftsmanship are also the ingredients that have made Ole Lynggaard jewellery so popular and desirable. In an interview with Clara Rugaard, we learned more about the new affinity.
Clara, what does this moment mean to you as the brand’s new ambassador?
It’s a little dream come true. I’ve known the brand since I was a child and often stood spellbound in front of the shop windows admiring the jewellery. It’s a brand that stands for authenticity, creativity and the highest level of craftsmanship. I feel honoured and very proud to be the face of this beautiful, bold campaign.
What does jewellery mean to you?
For me, jewellery is a keeper of memories. Through jewellery, the stories and memories of my past can quietly strengthen me in the present. A ring or a necklace can have a magical effect on a person. It’s like giving a small object a secret meaning that only you know and cherish. These are wonderful, sparkling little secrets that we carry with us.
Do you have a favourite piece of jewellery?
I’ve always loved how Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen is so strongly inspired by nature. The Under The Sea, Young Fish and Elephant collections particularly appeal to me. It was love at first sight with the Young Fish earrings. These pendants are simply beautiful. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are truly impressive, and there is something incredibly appealing about their uniqueness. However, I have never felt as glamorous as I did during the shoot when I wore the special “Gipsy” earrings. They are incredibly beautiful and gave me enormous confidence and the feeling that anything is possible!
