Patek Philippe has expanded its collection of patented Annual Calendars with a new version – the Reference 4946R impresses with its rose gold case and sophisticated chocolate-brown design. The dial is enhanced with a double satin finish, whose pattern evokes the texture of Shantung silk. This creates a captivating interplay of light and shadow, revealing different nuances depending on the viewing angle.
The brown calfskin strap features a distinctive denim-style texture and cream-colored contrast stitching, perfectly combining traditional watchmaking craftsmanship with contemporary style. The timepiece is completed by leaf-shaped hands with luminous coating and a sapphire-crystal case back that offers a view of the movement’s architecture and its finely executed finishing.
The Annual Calendar not only displays the date, day of the week, and month, but also includes a moon-phase indicator at 6 o’clock. All calendar indications can be easily corrected using the pushers set into the caseband. However, thanks to Patek Philippe’s patented mechanism, this adjustment is required only once a year, at the end of February.
With a diameter of 38 mm, the Reference 4946R fits comfortably on a wide range of wrist sizes. Patek Philippe deliberately avoids assigning a gender to this model — after all, timeless design suits everyone.
