A supreme watchmaking discipline

Erwin Sattler proudly presents the ›Opus Moon Tourbillon‹. A table clock in a strictly limited edition.

A tourbillon is a device designed to improve the rate of mechanical watches by reducing the effect of gravity. By permanently changing its position, it compensates for deviations in rate caused by gravity. The tourbillon is one of the supreme disciplines of watchmaking. Only an outstanding manufacturer like Erwin Sattler is capable of producing such a ›whirlwind‹ in-house. With the ›Opus Moon Tourbillon‹, the renowned manufacturer from Gräfelfing near Munich presents this innovative table clock in a limited edition of 66 pieces.

Far more than just a timepiece, it is a technical work of art that will become a coveted collector’s item in the foreseeable future.  Framed by a polished stainless-steel case, the dial alone is a visual highlight of this exclusive watch. Applied, polished hour-markers and guilloché dial segments are designed around the ›funnels‹, each with twelve brilliant-cut diamonds, in which the complications make their appearance. In the upper one, the flying minute tourbillon with screw balance rotates at breakneck speed, while the lower one contains a hand-painted moon sphere that requires exactly one lunar cycle for each rotation around its own axis.

A special design feature for a table clock is the 15-day power reserve, which is also displayed on a separate scale on the right-hand side of the movement. The accuracy achieved results from this long power reserve in conjunction with the mainspring drive and the associated mobility of the Opus Moon Tourbillon.
